Break the Ambush Line

Marcus sent you back to me, good—now we make them commit. Their archers and bombardiers are spread through the treeline, and chasing them one by one only lets the rest melt away. Take the signal flare to the marked bend in the ambush road and fire it. The guard will rally on the light, and the bandits will have to strike before we form up. Hold that point through their counterattack and we'll break the whole line in one fight. Anyone already fighting there can reinforce the defense; land a real hit and you're in it with them.

The ambush road still belongs to them. Fire the flare at the marked rally point—or reinforce the defense if another soldier has already started it—and hold the line.

On completion

The ambush line is broken. They threw everything they had at the flare and left the road open behind them. Now the real fight begins. Their command is holed up deeper in, and their camp is waiting to burn.
